CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS
TL applications are available to any junior or senior wanting to be a TL for the 2017 Natural Helpers retreat. Applications can be picked up in the Counseling Center. Applications are due to Mrs. Hoover no later than noon today.
Tomorrow after school, the History Club will be hosting a Veterans Day assembly to honor local veterans. The assembly will be at 3:10 in the auditorium where you can learn about our veterans and what they have done. If you have a question you would like to ask a veteran, please drop it off in the box outside of Mr. Lamphier’s room, E214. Please come and show your support for those who have saved our country.
Attention Natural Helpers – if you were unable to make last Saturday’s Peer Mediation training and want to learn more, there will be a short informational meeting tomorrow before school at 7:50 and after school at 3:10. Come when it’s convenient for you. The meeting should take no longer than 10 minutes, so if you’re interested, stop by J227 Thursday.
The Random Acts of Kindness Club will be meeting Monday, November 14 after school in B217. We will be taking a yearbook photo and then making new posters. Consider wearing your RAK shirt for the picture.
The Gay Straight Alliance yearbook picture will be taken immediately after school on Monday the 14th. Don’t forget we have a guest speaker right after the picture!
All students grades 9-12 are needed to participate in the Donut Eating Contest, which is only 3 weeks away on November 30th. We currently have 5 teams out of the 30 teams needed. If you have a team of 4 that would like to help raise money for Share Joys and have a lot of fun, please see Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center.
Seniors who will be attending Black Hawk College in the fall: If your parents have questions about college, Black Hawk will be having a Parent Night this Thursday, November 10th at 5:30 p.m. in Building 4, second floor in the Hawk’s Nest. Come to the Counseling Center for more information.
Attention juniors and seniors: We have a new online service for sending transcripts called Parchment. Parchment is a simple online way to Request, Send and Store Transcripts. Juniors and seniors will receive an email from Parchment to create an account and then you’re ready to start sending transcripts (you may need to check your spam folder). This service will allow students to send unlimited transcripts to colleges free of charge.
Intramural Basketball will start one week from today. There are only spots for a few more teams. If you are interested in playing, stop by the bookstore to get information.
Need help with homework? After school tutoring is available today from 2:00 to 3:30 p.m. in room B325. Stop in to get the help you need for as long as you need!
