CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

Calling all creative students! Would you like to work on MHS’ creative arts magazine? Please attend tomorrow’s meeting in B215 at 3:15 as we need to elect officers! See Mrs. MacLennan (B215) or Ms. Hays (B217) for more information.

The Interact Club will have its first meeting tomorrow at 3:10 in J128.  One of the Interact Club’s big projects is the Student Hunger Drive, which will begin soon and ends in early November.  We need your ideas and we need your help!  Plan to attend this meeting on Thursday.

The first GSA meeting of the year will be tomorrow in the Media Center at 3:10.  If you are interested in running for office or participating in the club or Homecoming parade, please plan to attend or see Mrs. Mesick in the Media Center or Mrs. Cook in E-311.

All students are invited to attend the first French Club meeting tomorrow in Ms. Ciucci’s, room, J323, after school.  Come see what we are all about!

Any student interested in being an officer in MHS’ Random Acts of Kindness Club should see Ms Ciucci or Ms Hays this week. We will be selecting officers Friday after school.

Sports Unlimited would like you to join them in the cafeteria right after school tomorrow to learn more about our awesome club!  Sports Unlimited is by students, for students.  Everyone is welcome!

Anyone interested in pursuing a career in the health or medical field, stop by B318 at 3:05 tomorrow and join the Health and Medical Club. The first meeting will last around 15 minutes. Come and learn the great career opportunities and knowledge to enhance your life. If you have any questions, see Mr. Mahieu.

Attention seniors – please check your school email for the ballot to cast your vote for Homecoming King and Queen.  Voting closes next Wednesday.

Have you ever wanted to see Big Ben, climb the Eiffel Tower, or tour the Colosseum?  Come join the MHS Student Tour to London, Paris, Florence, and Rome during the summer of 2018!  We will have the mandatory Parent Meeting and Sign-Up for the trip on Thursday, September 8th at 6:00pm in room E-208.  Any questions…see Ms. Shelton in E-208.

Auditions for the Fall Show will be held this Thursday and Friday in the Auditorium from 3:30 to 5:30. No individual sign-ups necessary. Further details will be posted on the Drama board just outside B214.

There will be a meeting today after school in the cafeteria for any student interested in being part of the newly formed group called the Field House Frenzy (formally Super Fans).  The Field House Frenzy is open to all classes, freshmen through seniors.  Our first home football game is this Friday.  Let’s show them our Moline Maroon spirit by packing the stands at Browning Field.

Attention Line O’ Type Staff: Editors and photographers will have their first meeting after school today in B206, Mrs. Norcross’s room.  Please see me Mrs. Norcross if you are unable to attend.  Line O’ Type reporters will have their first meeting Thursday, September 1 in B206.

Volunteer opportunity:  Morning Star Senior Community is seeking volunteers to help organize activities such as sing a longs, playing games, doing puzzles, and adult coloring.  If you are interested in this opportunity, please see Mrs. Thompson in the Counseling Center.

Senior members only of the Academic Team should stop by E102 after school today at 3:05 for a brief meeting regarding team officers.  ALL Academic Team members (not just seniors) and anyone interested in joining the team should plan on attending an upcoming informational meeting after school on September 13th in E102.

There will be a Student Congress meeting Monday at 7:30 am in room E204. All students are welcome to attend and get involved with Student Congress.

Students:  You must have your current school ID for food service in the Cafeteria and to enter the Library.

The Chrome book charge station is now available in the Cafeteria 1st and 4th hour.

The Dansworth Scholarship through Washington University is now open to graduating seniors.  Applications may be downloaded from the counseling website.  This scholarship has a due date of November 15, 2016.

The first Student Congress meeting will be held on Wednesday Aug 24 in J212 at 7:30 am. All students are welcome to attend and get involved with Student Congress as we plan for the Homecoming parade and dance.
