All girls trying out for soccer are to meet in the Coolidge gym today at 3:30 pm.  Be prepared for indoor or outdoor practice.

Girls Softball:  There will be tryouts today and Wednesday 3:30-5:15 for Freshmen and Sophomores and 5:15-7:00 for Juniors and Seniors in the West Gym.

The Cast of Fiddler on the Roof is putting on a Fundraiser for your taste buds! Come experience the TASTE OF ANATEVKA and help yourself to Traditional Jewish and Russian dishes in the MHS auditorium, Friday, March 4th at 6pm. Students will be dressed as their characters and ready to serve you up some delicious foods! Interact with characters on stage. Have a preview of the set and costumes for the upcoming production of Fiddler on the Roof. Purchase food tickets at the event to pay for the dish you desire most!

Spring sports start Monday, February 29th.  If you plan on trying out for a spring sport you need to have a current physical and parent permission form on file in the Athletic Office.  See Mrs. Valladares with any questions.

Attention all National Honor Society applicants–Your completed applications are due in the Counseling Center to Mrs. Ryser by 2:00 p.m. today.

The John Cervantes Scholarship is now open exclusively to Moline High School students only.  This scholarship is worth up to $4000.  Applications may be accessed from the Counseling Website and this scholarship has a due date of April 1.

The following local scholarships are now available to Moline High School Students only:

The Bill Bishop Memorial Scholarship

The Cyrus and Mildred Churchill Scholarship

The Alex Hallene Memorial Scholarship

The Moline Rotary Endowed Scholarship

All seven scholarships have a due date of April 15, and applications and criteria may be found from the counseling website.

All MHS students and their parents are invited to a Multicultural Youth Summit at Black Hawk College on Saturday, Feb. 27th from 8:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. in Building 1.  Learn more about college admissions, financial aid and scholarships as well as choosing a career path or college major.  See your counselor for registration information.

There will be a brief girls’ basketball meeting for all levels, today at 2:05 in the driver’s education room, B152.

Please plan ahead to stay for extra help at After School Tutoring tomorrow.  Tutoring is available from 2:00 – 3:30pm in room B325.  Take advantage of this opportunity to get assistance with your assignments.

Doctor Who fans are invited to a Doctor Who Trivia Contest at the Moline Public Library next Monday, February 29 at 6:00 p.m. Compete in teams of up to four. Advance registration is required.

Our MHS Special Olympics team will be playing its 1st home game at MHS in the east gym this Saturday! Game times are at 10 and 11am.   The game is free to attend.  We will be having a bake sale, at the game, to help with our costs of going to state.  If any staff would like to donate to the bake sale or any students would like to volunteer at the game, please see Mrs. Hocker in room J111.

The Moline Public Library is offering a beginning LEGO Robotics workshop on Monday evenings in March. Learn the basics of making and programming the LEGO EV3 Core set. Space is limited and registration is required. Call the library to sign up.
