This is a reminder to all students interested in applying for the next year’s Line O’Type staff.  All applications are due by Thursday, May 7 and should be turned in to the Publications Office or Mrs. Norcross in room B206.

MHS Bible Study will meet Friday from 3:10-3:30 in J227.  All are welcome.

Seniors: If you want your scholarships that you have earned to be printed in the Convocation program, the forms are due tomorrow to your counselor.

Trinity College of Nursing and Health Sciences will be here tomorrow to talk to students interested in their programs.  Please come to the Counseling Center to sign up if interested.

Human Trafficking Awareness Event:  Today from 3:30 to 4:30 in the cafeteria, come hear Cathy O’Keefe speak on this topic along with a local survivor.

Seniors:  This is a reminder that Cap and Gown Distribution will be tomorrow from 11:00 to 1:00 P.M. in the auditorium lobby.

Attention all seniors:  If you didn’t fill out your Line O’ Type Senior Survey in PE, please stop by the Publications Office or Mrs. Norcross’s room in B206 to pick one up.  All completed forms can be dropped off in the box outside the Publications Office on B-Wing sec0nd floor and should be turned in no later than Thursday, May 7th.

Love football?  Come join us and tryout for Color Guard.  Support the band and the home team.  Tryouts are Monday and Tuesday, May 4th and 5th from 3:30 to 4:30 in the West Gym.

Stop by the Moline Public Library on Saturday, May 2 between 2:00 and 4:00 to celebrate Free Comic Book Day. Pick up a free comic book, draw your own cartoons, snap a superhero selfie, take part in a trivia quest, and much more. Costumes are optional.

Freshmen–Black Hawk College and John Deere’s Society of Hispanic Professional Engineers Foundation are sponsoring a Science Night event May 4th from 5:30 to 8:30 P.M. at BHC.  Students ages 14-15 will participate in fun, hands-on STEM activities.  Parents and students can get useful college information, and there will be bilingual parent workshops.  To register, please come to the Counseling Center.

Are you looking for quality entertainment but don’t have sufficient funds to make it happen? This Saturday, April 25th is the Student-Directed One Act Play Festival. You’ll see five short plays directed by the seniors in Moline’s Theater Program. There will be laughs! There will be tears!  All for only $2! See you there!

Back packs should be kept in your locker. Also, you must have a parking pass to park in the student parking lot. Tickets will be issued.

Thank you to all who applied for next year’s Link Crew.  The list of selected Link Leaders has been posted outside the counseling center, Bookstore, and main office.  In order to confirm your spot as a Link Leader, each of you must stop in the Counseling Center to complete the acceptance process.  Any Link Leader who fails to confirm his or her placement by 3:30 p.m. on Friday, April 24th will be replaced with another qualified candidate.  Please note that the dates have changed for our Spring Development Days, so be sure to mark your calendar with the new May dates.

Any senior interested in an internship this summer to preserve the environment: please stop by J138 and pick up information for a great opportunity working at the Nahant Marsh and Wetlands. If you have any questions, see Mr. Mahieu.

The Moline Rotary Endowed Scholarship has been extended with a due date of April 27.  Applicants must plan on attending Augustana College.  This scholarship is worth $4000.  Download the application from the Counseling website.

This evening, Moline High School will be offering a presentation to parents of sophomore students who are interested in learning more about the college application process and future planning for college and careers.  Representatives from the MHS Counseling Department, the Illinois Student Assistance Commission, and Career Cruising Quad Cities will give brief presentations and provide hand-outs and an opportunity to address parent questions.  The presentation will be held in room B327 from 5:30-6:30 p.m. We hope to see you there!

The Justin Sharp Memorial Scholarship is now open to MHS graduating seniors.  Applicants must have at least a 3.25 GPA and have participated in activities while enrolled at MHS.  Students may download the application from the counseling website.  This scholarship has a due date of June 1.
