COUNSELING CENTER

Reminder:  All students who are taking their third Dual Credit class and have not already taken the Compass test are required to do so.  The one and only test is Wednesday after school at 11:15 in B325.  You must have your Social Security number or BHC ID# to take the test.  See your counselor if you have questions.

Do you need help in paying for college?  Seniors come to the counseling center and sign up to see our Financial Aid rep.

Staff and Students:  Let Your Heart Grow 3 Times Bigger!  Buy your Share Joys tickets today.  Starting Monday, you can buy goodies and raffle tickets from the Share Joys Elves.  Students can win a flat screen LCD T.V. or a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.  Staff can win a 42″ Flat Screen Smart T.V. or a Kindle HD.  There are 41 prizes for students and 41 prizes for staff that include $100.00 and $50.00 gift certificates and many awesome prizes!  See the display window outside the Counseling Center or the lists of prizes outside the main office.  Let’s make this the best Share Joys ever!

Kaleidoscript will meet today at 3:15 in B215.  ALL members attend, for we are taking the yearbook club photo!  We hope to see you there!

The Drama Club meets today after school in room E204.

There is an Authentic Voices meeting today in E204.  Check with your teachers and choose to join us Period 5 or 6.

On Saturday the Varsity Academic Team took 4th place out of 24 teams at the annual coaches’ Kickoff tournament in Sterling.  This duplicates the top-four finish they had last year.  Congratulations to Binnie Anberber, Brandon Dang, Connor Malcolm-Bivens, Jon McGehee, Eric Sheidler, and Ben Wolf.

Girls swim team members should return their warm-ups (washed and cleaned) to Coach Ehlers after school down by the pool.

Share Joys tickets are now available in the Bookstore.  Tickets are .50 cents each.  Get your tickets early to avoid the lines.

Spanish Club:  There is a meeting today after school in J328.  We will be playing games, having snacks, and having our yearbook picture taken.

Art Club will be meeting today in room E114 at 3:15.  We will be doing an awesome craft!

MHS Bible Study will be meeting in J210 on Friday from 3:10-3:40.  We will be talking about gratefulness.  Everyone is welcome!

A reminder to all NHS members involved in the Variety Show:  Practice meets tonight at 5:30 in the Band room.  Make sure you bring something to write with.

The Scott Community College Interior Design Student Open House is Thursday, December 12th from 3-6:00 P.M.  The open house is free and open to the public.  It will provide the opportunity to view student work and see our state of the art design lab and sample room.

Kaleidoscript will have a mandatory meeting today in room B215 at 3:15 to discuss the White Water trip. Members, you must turn in your signed permission slips or forfeit your space on the bus.

Donut Eating Teams:  Get those pledges this week!  Pledge sheets are due to Mrs. Ryser in the Counseling Center next Monday, Nov. 25th at 3:00 P.M.

NHS Members:  There is an Elf Meeting today at 3:00 sharp in the cafeteria.  Remember your raffle prizes!

NHS Variety Show members: The first mandatory meeting will take place today at 5:30 P.M. in the band room.  Come ready to be creative!

MHS Book Club will be meeting today in E204 during your lunch.  See you then!

Key Club, there will be a meeting on Thursday after school as well as a group photo. If you are a Key Club member and you helped out with the hunger drive, please go to the Cafeteria after school on Thursday. See you then!

The Student Congress meeting scheduled for tonight at 6:30 pm has been changed to this afternoon from 3-3:30 in the cafeteria.

All Natural Helpers that applied to be a TL, there will be a brief meeting today after school at 3:05 in J138.

Kaleidoscript will have a mandatory meeting tomorrow in room B215 at 3:15 to discuss the White Water trip. Members, please turn signed permission slips so that you can go on the trip.

The Stephen Brady STOP Hunger Scholarship is now available.  This scholarship is open to students that have helped to raise food for needy families and is worth $5000. Complete criteria may be found on the Counseling website and this scholarship has a due date of December 5.

Seniors who are planning to go on the Black Hawk College Field Trip, the deadline to turn in your permission slips is TODAY. Please bring your permission slips to the Counseling Center.

COUNSELING CENTER

The Stephen Brady STOP Hunger Scholarship is now available.  This scholarship is open to students that have helped to raise food for needy families and is worth $5000. Complete criteria may be found on the Counseling website and this scholarship has a due date of December 5.

Seniors who are planning to go on the Black Hawk College Field Trip, the deadline to turn in your permission slips is tomorrow.  Turn your permission slips in at the Counseling Center by Friday, Nov. 15th at 3:00 p.m.

Get into the holiday cheer early and adopt a window in the Library Media Center to paint for Share Joys.  Painting begins on November 25th, which will give artists 5 school days to complete a masterpiece before judging, which will be done solely with Share Joys tickets.  Come in now to reserve your window!  Prizes will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place windows who receive the most votes.
