Friday, Sept. 27th Metro will have a bus by the tennis courts only for the 11:10 am dismissal. All other buses will run on the regular schedule on the Avenue.

Students, as we celebrate Homecoming week please remember to dress appropriately adhering to the MHS dress code policy.

Lifetouch student pictures will be handed out Period 4 by the cafeteria today.

Photo retake day is Monday, September 30th.

Any Key Club student who signed up to be a part of the Student Hunger Drive Skit needs to go to J208 after school TODAY for practice.  This is a mandatory practice for those involved in next Monday’s event.  Also, any student who is walking in the parade needs to meet in J208 on Thursday after school for a brief meeting.  See you soon!

Anyone who was not able to attend yesterday’s drama club meeting, please stop by room B214 and pick up a form for the Illinois High School Theatre Fest.  There are only 36 spots available, and they’ll fill up quickly.  Don’t be left behind.

There will be a meeting of the Gay Straight Alliance this Friday after school in Room E-311. This is our first meeting of the year & we are looking forward to meeting some new allies. Please attend even if you didn’t attend last year!

Crime stoppers meeting will be Tuesday, October 1st, at 3:05, in room B128.

On Saturday, October 19, Moline High School’s high ranking juniors are eligible to take the PSAT-NMSQT exam.  This exam is designed to give juniors practice with standardized testing in the format of the SAT, and it is also the ONLY OPPORTUNITY juniors have to qualify for National Merit Scholar status.  Any juniors interested in taking this optional exam need to see Mrs. Sanders in the counseling center between the dates of September 10 and September 18.  Slots are filled on a first-come, first serve basis and will only be held with the $25 testing fee.  (Checks should be made out to Moline High School.)  Spaces are limited, so all interested juniors are encouraged to sign up and pay as soon as possible.  No late registration will be accepted.

Do you want to help create something that will last a lifetime?  If so, the editors of the 2014 yearbook are now taking applications for staff positions.  Please stop by B206 or the publication’s office and pick up an application.  It is due September 19th, so please get one as soon as possible.  We look forward to an exciting year and an amazing 2014 “M.”

COUNSELING CENTER

Night School for the Fall Semester has begun.  English is meeting Mondays and Wednesdays and Social Studies is meeting Tuesdays and Thursdays.  If you have not signed up or have any questions, please see your counselor immediately.
