CLUBS & ORGANIZATIONS

VAN’s Shoe Design Club has a short meeting today (promptly) after school.

 

MHS Book Club—This month’s selection is available in the library. Come check it out!

 

Art Club WILL NOT meet this Thursday.

 

COUNSELING

The local scholarships available to graduating Moline senior students are still available with applications and criteria on the counseling website.  The due date for these scholarships is April 16, 2012.

 

The Family College Scholarship for Hispanic Students is now being offered.  Criteria and applications may be downloaded from the Counseling Website. This scholarship has a due date of May 1, 2012.

The Donna and Mertroe Hornbuckle Scholarship is now available exclusively to Moline High School graduating seniors.  Students must answer an essay and requirements are available on the Counseling Website.  This scholarship is worth $1000 and has a due date of April 30.

Do you want a summer job that pays well and gives you a good tan? You only need to be 14 years old. See Mrs. Dexter in the counseling center for details.

Any current 9th or 10th grade student interested in learning about leadership, character and justice, is invited to check out the class at St. Ambrose University this summer. Space is limited, so get info from Mrs. Dexter a.s.a.p.

The Bi-lingual college fair will take place this Saturday, April 14th at the LULAC center in Davenport from noon to 2 p.m. Over 25 colleges will be represented. For more information, see the flyer on the bulletin board on 1st floor, B-wing, by the drinking fountain near the main entrance.

SPORTS

All girls planning to play volleyball next year should attend a brief meeting before school this Thursday morning in coach Albrecht’s room B322 at 7:50 a.m. This informational volleyball meeting will last approximately 10 minutes so please be on time. Both summer camp and summer league information will be distributed. See coach Albrecht in advance if you cannot attend.

 

All students interested in trying out for next year’s Cheerleading squad should attend an informational meeting this Thursday in room J210 at 3:30.  

 

Any girls interested in basketball should attend open gym tonight and tomorrow in the west gym from 3:30-4:30.

 

MISC

Anyone planning to submit a book recommendation list to the media center should do so immediately.

 

Students wanting to sign up for Driver Education offered this summer must get a permission form from their counselor. You may do this before school, during lunch, or after school (not during class or passing times). Summer School sign-ups will be held at the book store next week.
